UNEASINESS IN MINDEN DUE TO CATS

MAIN CAMPUS, - 28 March, 2024 -  The study area in USM, Minden, D18 known for being a place for revision is often visited by several free roaming cats. However, this joyful atmosphere has been disrupted due to complaints from students about the smell coming from these cats which causes discomfort and disturbs  their focus while studying.

Muhammad Dinie Ifwat, Language, Literacy, and Translation 3, stated that while the presence of cats is an interesting idea, he is concerned about cleanliness and the odor which makes it challenging for him to come here and revise.

"I hope that the responsible parties take initiative to ensure that this study area is always kept clean and that the cats are well taken care of," he added.

Nur Syabila Rahman, Management 3, also mentioned that the cat odor makes her less focused and gives her headaches whenever she is in the study area.

"I love cats but I don't think it's suitable to have cats in the study area. We also don't know if there are students who have asthma or allergies to cats," said Syabila.

Although cats are considered friendly animals, their presence in the Minden study area raises questions about cleanliness and the comfort of the space.

The discomfort experienced by students in Minden due to the cat odor has become a highlighted issue. Students are awaiting the best initiative from the responsible parties to resolve this problem and ensure that the study area in Minden remains clean and comfortable.
